TOPIC: date variable formatting

In the current version of Logicity, there are not currently variables for the 2-digit month and day, but we will put this on our list to add. New variables to be added will be:

- Current Year
- Current Month Number (Leading Zero)
- Current Day Number (Leading Zero)

Our developers are currently on a 2 week lead time so I'd expect to see a new release with this functionality by the end of March. As a workaround until then, maybe you could manually pad the zero into the format.

I will do that, and also check back in a few weeks for the update.

Thank you for the quick reply!

Holly,

Just a heads up - we are uploading 1.5.0013 right now with the new variables mentioned above. Thanks for the feedback!

Take care,
Adam

I have recenlty downloaded version 1.6.3001.25776 which does not have the Current Year in the Insert Variable dialog for date parameters. However, if I type in %CURRENT_YEAR% that works.

Also, some other suggestions for date variables useful in parameters:

Last Year
Last Month Number
Last Month Last Day
Current Month Last Day

For leap year:
Last Year's Last Month Last Day
Current Year's Last Month Last Day

Alternatively, features similar to DateSerial would be VERY nice!

We've had a newer version of Logicity 1.6 in the download area, but forgot to activate it until you mentioned this. This was something that was fixed in the version that is up now, so can you try grabbing that one and see if that resolves your issue.

Thanks for the suggestions on new date variables. We'll add those to the list for addition into the next release.

Thanks.

Note that installing over the existing program did not update it to the new level. A second attempt offered the remove option which I did and the subsequent install was required to bring me to the new level (1.6.3021.30666).

The new date features now show up now great! HOWEVER (that's a big however) -

When I add date variable to my date range parameter, it only works while within the Logicity Solution Builder with the Execute RRD command. If I save changes and run the RRD on a schedule or reopen it in the Solution Builder, it prompts for the again for the date parameter, essientially forgetting the "Specified" setting and going back to "Prompt User".

I checked the RRD in Notepad and can see that the date variables are indeed in the file, but when it is reopened and I edit or run the RRD - the "Specified" setting is lost. Easily reproduceable.
